Good morning!
What a difference a couple of weeks make! The lake is now suitable for ATVs and side-by-sides again. You might encounter some difficulty getting onto the ice, but once you’re out there, you’ll be fine. There’s anywhere from 18 to 24 inches of ice. Sled traction is a bit limited, but you can manage.

This is the Friday of our three-day Fuel-n-Food contest. Dave and Lisa from Wally’s have gone above and beyond to accommodate the contest and the fishermen. They’ve plowed a lot of snow, even down by the docks, so please park tightly and out of the way if you’re staying for the weekend. We’ll be serving complimentary chili, shrimp, and corn chowder inside on Saturday. Also, there will be a DJ and a fire (weather permitting) outside.

Results will be posted on a board in front of the bar and at the weigh station, which is located on the ice by the beach. I’ll have an extra sled and side-by-side to shuttle anyone who doesn’t have their own machine. There will also be a band playing inside Wally’s on Saturday night. Please stop by for a drink sometime this weekend. And of course, I hope to see everyone at the store on Sunday after 4 PM for the prize giveaway. It’s going to be a fantastic weekend, and the lake conditions are the best they’ve been in years!

Fishing:
It’s been picking up a little. We’re seeing small walleyes and pike. Some big perch are being caught, and I bet some big pike will be caught this weekend.
Tip of the week:
Have fun!
